Product Description
Among the bearings provided to bearing manufacturers, 80% of XSA140644N crossed roller turntable bearings fail early because they are not installed correctly. Correct installation of bearings can not only prolong the service life of bearings, reduce costs, but also greatly improve production efficiency. Therefore, it is urgent to learn the correct knowledge of bearing installation.
Luoyang East Axis is used to highlight the installation, disassembly, maintenance and lubrication of bearings. Compared with the wrong methods commonly used at present, it shows the importance of bearing maintenance visually.

Bearing disassembly is an important part of mechanical maintenance. Disassembly must follow the basic rules of bearing disassembly and assembly, and different disassembly tools and methods should be adopted for different bearings.
If the bearing needs to be reused after disassembly, the force exerted during disassembly cannot be transmitted through the rolling elements. For separated bearings, the bearing ring with the rolling element cage assembly can be disassembled separately from another bearing ring.
When disassembling the non-separated bearing, the bearing ring with clearance fit should be removed first, and the bearing with interference fit should be disassembled. Different tools should be used according to its type, size and fit mode.
1 remove the bearing installed on the cylindrical shaft diameter.
1) cold disassembly.
Figure 1
When disassembling a smaller bearing, it can be removed from the shaft by tapping the side of the bearing ring lightly with a suitable punch. The better method is to use a mechanical puller (Figure 1). The pull should be applied to the inner ring or adjacent parts. The disassembly process can be simplified if grooves which can accommodate the pulling of the puller are reserved in the shaft shoulder and the bore shoulder of the bearing seat. In addition, some threaded holes are machined at the position of the hole shoulder, which is convenient for bolts to push out the bearings (Figure 2).
Figure 2.
Large and medium-sized bearings usually require more force than mechanical tools can provide. Therefore, it is recommended to use hydraulic power tools or oil injection method, or both. This means that oil holes and oil grooves need to be designed on the shaft (Figure 3).
Figure 3.
2) Hot disassembly.
When disassembling needle roller bearings or inner rings of NU, NJ and NUP cylindrical roller bearings, it is suitable to use hot disassembly method. Two common heating tools: heating ring and adjustable induction heater.
Heating rings are usually used to install and disassemble inner rings of small and medium-sized bearings with the same size. The heating ring is made of light alloy. The heating ring has radial slots and is equipped with an electrically insulated handle (Figure 4).
Figure 4
If inner rings with different diameters are frequently disassembled, it is recommended to use the adjustable induction heater. These heaters (Figure 5) can quickly heat the inner ring without heating the shaft. When disassembling the inner ring of large cylindrical roller bearings, some special fixed induction heaters can be used.

2 Remove the bearing installed on the conical shaft diameter.
The small bearing can be disassembled by pulling the inner ring with a mechanical or hydraulic power-assisted puller. Some pullers are equipped with spring operating arms. Using this kind of pullers with self-centering design can simplify the procedure and avoid damaging the journal. If the puller claw cannot be used on the inner ring, the bearing should be disassembled through the outer ring or by means of puller combined with drawing piece (Figure 6).
Figure 6
When using oil injection method, the disassembly of medium and large bearings will be safer and simpler. In this method, hydraulic oil is injected between two conical mating surfaces through oil holes and oil grooves under high pressure. The friction between the two surfaces is greatly reduced, and an axial force is generated to separate the bearing from the shaft diameter.
3 Remove the bearing on the tightening sleeve.
For the small bearing installed on the straight shaft of the tightening sleeve, a hammer can be used to knock on the small steel block which uniformly acts on the end face of the inner ring of the bearing for disassembly (Figure 7). Before that, it is necessary to loosen the locking nut of the tightening sleeve several times.
Figure 7
For the small bearing installed on the stepped shaft of the tightening sleeve, a hammer can be used to knock the small end face of the locking nut of the tightening sleeve through a special sleeve (Figure 8). Before that, it is necessary to loosen the locking nut of the tightening sleeve several times.
Figure 8
For the bearings installed on the stepped shaft with tight sleeve, the use of hydraulic nuts can make the bearing disassembly easier. For this reason, a suitable stopper must be installed close to the piston of the hydraulic nut (Figure 9). Oil injection is a simpler method, but a tightening sleeve with oil holes and oil grooves must be used.

4 Remove the bearing on the withdrawal sleeve.
The locking device must be removed when removing the bearing on the dismounting sleeve. (such as lock nut, end plate, etc.) For small and medium-sized bearings, lock nut, hook wrench or impact wrench can be used for disassembly (Figure 10).
